Customize a member role
Adjust permissions on a built-in role, or create a custom role with its own permission set.
When you’d do this
Section titled “When you’d do this”The built-in Member role gives someone full read of all photos and only limited delete and move powers. You want a different mix. For example, a “Field Lead” role that can manage project access but cannot remove people from the team. Or you want to tighten Member so they can only view their own photos.
Timemark has three built-in roles, Owner, Admin, and Member, plus any custom roles you add. You can adjust the permissions on Admin and Member, or build a custom role from scratch. The Owner role is fixed and can’t be changed.
Role permission sets are configured only in Teamspace on the web. The Timemark App shows each member’s role read-only. You can’t edit role permissions from a phone.

Common pitfalls
Section titled “Common pitfalls”- A role marked “Customized” has been edited from defaults. Other Owners reviewing your team should know what changed, so document the rationale outside the product (for example, in a wiki).
- Tightening Member to “Own only” View prevents Members from seeing each other’s photos. Field coordinators may need a different role.
- Deleting a custom role while members are assigned to it forces a reassignment. Teamspace prompts you. Plan the migration before clicking delete.
