Photos not showing or won't send in WhatsApp, Line, or Messenger

Why Timemark photos don't show up or won't send in a chat app, and how to send them anyway.

On a small number of device models, Timemark photos won’t send in WhatsApp (WA), Line, Messenger, or another chat app. In the chat app’s photo picker the photo doesn’t show up properly: it opens as a black image, or can’t be selected at all. The same photo looks normal in the phone’s gallery. This includes photos taken for attendance check-ins, which behave like any other Timemark photo. The fix is to send the photo from inside Timemark.

The photo itself is not damaged. On the affected devices the saved file lacks an identifier that some chat apps’ pickers expect, so the picker fails to load it.

  1. Tap Preview on the camera screen.
  2. Tap the photo you want to send.
  3. Tap Share and choose the chat app.

Photos shared this way send normally. To send several at once, tap All photos at the top right of Preview, select them, then tap Share. See Share a photo for all sharing options.

If this happens to you, email the affected photo to support@timemark.com. Attach it from the phone’s gallery, which displays it fine, rather than from the chat app. We’ll check the photo’s metadata for anything unusual.

  • The photo is intact. It stays in your gallery, and sharing it from Timemark sends the full image.
