Some team photos are blurred

Why Teamspace photos blur when the team isn't on an active Business plan, and how to check your current plan.

If some Teamspace photos show up blurred and won’t open at full quality, the team is on the Free 100-photo cap right now, even if you expected it to be on Business. The fix is almost always on the billing side.

Teamspace caps photos by plan:

  • Free: keeps the first 100 photos. Newer photos past that blur when reviewed.
  • Business: 300,000 photos. Nothing blurs under that cap.

So blurred photos almost always mean the team is not on an active Business plan at this moment, even if someone subscribed before. Common ways a team falls back to the Free cap:

  • The Business trial ended and wasn’t converted to a paid plan.
  • On a yearly (prepaid) plan, a new member pushed the team past its prepaid seats and the top-up payment didn’t complete, so billing is on hold. (Monthly plans prorate automatically and have no seat pool, so this doesn’t happen to them.)
  • A payment failed (for example, an expired card), putting the subscription in a restricted state.

The photos themselves uploaded fine. They’re just held behind the cap until the plan is active again.

Confirm which plan the team is actually on right now. It shows one of three states: Free, Trial, or Business.

  • In the App: open Teamspace → Settings.
  • On the web: sign in to teamspace.timemark.com and go to Settings → Plan & Billing (this view also shows any payment that’s due).

If it shows Free (or a Trial that has ended, or a payment warning) instead of Business, that’s why photos are blurred.

Only the Team Owner can resolve billing.

  1. As the Owner, go to Settings → Plan & Billing on the web, or Teamspace → Settings in the App.
  2. Complete the outstanding payment, or upgrade to Business. See Business plan.
  3. On payment success the cap jumps to 300,000, and the previously blurred photos become viewable again.

If you removed members to get back under your paid seats but the team is still restricted, see Billing cycle and invoices.

  • A personal Plus subscription does not lift the team cap. Plus is an individual App subscription. Only Business raises the Teamspace photo cap. See I paid for Plus but it’s not active.
  • Each Teamspace is billed separately. Paying for one team does not upgrade another team you own, so one team can show Business while another is still Free and blurring.
  • Blur happens on review, not at capture. A blurred photo uploaded successfully. It only unlocks once the plan is active.
  • Only photos past the first 100 blur on Free. The oldest 100 stay viewable.
