Verify a photo

Verify a Timemark photo in the App or on the web, by selecting a photo or by entering its Photo Code.

You can verify a Timemark photo in the App or on the web. In the App, open Timemark and tap Verify at the top of the camera screen, then verify in one of two ways.

  1. Tap Verify at the top of the camera screen.
  2. Tap Select Photo and choose a photo from your camera roll.
  3. Read the result.

This method does not analyze the image itself for editing. It tells you whether the photo’s Photo Code was generated by Timemark, and shows the metadata (such as time and location) that the code maps to. Compare that metadata against what the photo shows.

  1. Tap Verify at the top of the camera screen.
  2. Under Verify by Photo Code, enter the 14-character code printed on the photo (for example M9KQ2XB4LW6N3P).
  3. Tap Verify.

No Timemark app? Anyone can verify a Timemark photo at verify.timemark.com in a browser, without installing the App. This helps recipients who received a Timemark photo and want to check it themselves.

See Understanding verification results for what Authentic, Fake, and Unable to Verify mean and what to do next.

  • Editing a photo’s watermark after capture does not change its Photo Code. The photo keeps its original code and can still be verified.

Contact us at support@timemark.com and we’ll look into it.
