Verify by selecting a photo
Section titled “Verify by selecting a photo”- Tap Verify at the top of the camera screen.
- Tap Select Photo and choose a photo from your camera roll.
- Read the result.
This method does not analyze the image itself for editing. It tells you whether the photo’s Photo Code was generated by Timemark, and shows the metadata (such as time and location) that the code maps to. Compare that metadata against what the photo shows.
Verify by Photo Code
Section titled “Verify by Photo Code”- Tap Verify at the top of the camera screen.
- Under Verify by Photo Code, enter the 14-character code printed on the photo (for example
M9KQ2XB4LW6N3P). - Tap Verify.
Verify on the web
Section titled “Verify on the web”No Timemark app? Anyone can verify a Timemark photo at verify.timemark.com in a browser, without installing the App. This helps recipients who received a Timemark photo and want to check it themselves.
What the result means
Section titled “What the result means”See Understanding verification results for what Authentic, Fake, and Unable to Verify mean and what to do next.
Common pitfalls
Section titled “Common pitfalls”- Editing a photo’s watermark after capture does not change its Photo Code. The photo keeps its original code and can still be verified.
