Set the default camera mode
Choose whether your team's camera opens in Photo, Clock, or Checklist mode.
When you’d do this
Section titled “When you’d do this”Your crew mostly uses Timemark to clock in, or to work through a checklist. You want the camera to open straight in that mode so nobody has to switch every time they start the App.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- Role
- Team Owner, or any role with "Manage Team" enabled
- Surface
- App
- Plan
- Free · Business
- Affects
- Every member of the current team, from their next App start
- In the App, switch to the team you want to set up.
- Open Teamspace → Settings, then tap Default camera mode. The current mode shows on the right.
- Pick Photo, Clock, or Checklist. The preview at the top changes to match.
- Tap Save.
New teams start on Photo. The setting belongs to the team, so each team you manage has its own.
What members see
Section titled “What members see”Nothing changes while a member has the App open. The next time they start the App fresh, it opens in the team’s default mode, and they see a one-time note such as “Your team admin set Clock as the default mode.” They tap Got it to close it.
An unfinished task comes first. If a member is still clocked in, or has a checklist in progress, the App reopens that task instead. The default mode applies once they clock out, submit, or reset the checklist.
Common pitfalls
Section titled “Common pitfalls”- Leaving without Save keeps the old mode. Save stays greyed out until you pick a mode that’s different from the saved one.
- Checklist needs a template first. If the team has none, picking Checklist offers Create checklist or Not now. Publishing a template doesn’t set the default for you. Come back afterwards, pick Checklist, and tap Save.
- Deleting the last checklist template switches the default back to Photo. Members don’t get a note about this change.
- Members don’t see this option. Only the Team Owner and roles with Manage Team can open it.
